Teflon coated wheels?
Getting ready to buy new wheels just kinds confused on the wheel finishes.Trying to figure out the best finish between polished, chrome,or teflon coated.I live in an area where it snows a lot and there is always rock on the road in the winter. Also I have 17x7.5 wheels does it matter if I go 17x8 or 17x9,I`m gonna put 285/70/17`s on them.Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I would say you would be better off going with something chrome. I'm not
sure how durable teflon coated would be and I'm pretty sure polished would
not hold up to salt, snow in your area. I would also say that 17x8 inch wheels
would be fine with the size tires you want. Too wide a wheel exposes the bead of the wheels to curbs, etc. As opposed to narrower wheels that let the
tire sidewall take more impact.
You might try checking with some tire shops in your area to get some more info on the wheel coatings. If you buy your tires/rims from the local shop, you might check with them and see if they will mount/dismount on two different size wheels. That way, you get an idea of how it will look.
Hope this helps.
Good luck
It would probably be hard to tell, but I have 16x8's on my rig w/265/70R16's
or, you can check out the pics in my gallery.

If teflon frying pans can hold up to being heater to 250', haveing food tossed on them, then just moments later stuck into a sink of cold water and still look fine I got to think they will be more then durable to hold up to rock salt.
I personally would have got them becuase I like the look, just not the cost.
