I had a white/gold 97 2x reg cab XLT Long box for about 8 months. I was never really satisfied with it. When I saw my current 98 Lariat, Dark Toreadore Red 4X4 Ex cab 5.4, on the lot it was love at first sight! This color has such depth and a richness when it's clean and waxed! This time of year in Michigan however, it's tough to keep it that way.

Cool

My wife wanted a solid color, I wanted the two-tone. Well...to make a long story short we ended up with the solid Pacific Green color and the Willow Green interior. After seeing the solid color for a while it looks ok. I still like the two-tone, maybe our next Ford will have it. Haven't seen to many F-150's w/ the Willow green interior lately, I am glad we decided on this color, it seems like everybody has the gray interior, we just wanted to be a little different.

I ordered a solid harvest gold 2 WD supercab ( my dream truck), six weeks later I'm told it still had not been schedueled. PO I told the dealer to cancell the truck. On my way out I saw the prettiest two tone Chestnut (Chestnut is a new color for 2000) and gold combo super cab and my heart done done flip flops.
Sooo here I am and tickled pink. Whoops I think thats Chestnut!!! Have a happy Y2K

IMHO, the lines of these trucks demand the two tone to break up the bland sides. Without the two tone, they look like pregnant, bloated guppies.

(Sorry you one-toner's out there, just my opinion.)

Well I too like the two-tone, as long as the top color compliments the bottom (which most if not all Ford color combos do). I didn't even mind paying an extra $200 for this "feature."

Cool

Just saw an interesting color combo I had not seen before.
It was a gray with charcoal wheel well moldings. It looked pretty good actually.
The next day I saw an expedition w/the same color combo. Must be a new 2000 thing ?
I also saw a black F-150 that had a custom black w/charcoal wheel well molding & lower portion painted, but did not have moldings, just painted to look like it did. Pretty nice also.

I like two-tone as well - Moonlight Blue over Moonlight Blue. Wait, that don't count does it? Okay - how 'bout Moonlight Blue and a lot of chrome? Or Moonlight Blue with a lot of chrome and grayish plastic trim pieces? Nevermind - make mine solid color....
