Amp Under the Dash ? Is it Doable ?

I was wondering if anyone has mounted an amp under the dash. It just seems that it will be very convienent sicne all the wiring etc is right there.

I have an Alpine MRP-F450 that has speaker and pre-amp level inputs.

I was thinking of using the speaker level inputs on the AMP with the stock HU and using the stock speaker wiring but upgrading the speakers to 5X7 Alpine Type R's.

Anyone have the amp under the dash ?

Edit* This is on a 2010 F150 Screw

theres another thread in the speakers and subs section that another guy is talking about doing it, but ive never seen it done before. Not worth the time/hassle to try and fit something that large in there and still have it be clean wiring and good connections. Put it on the back wall and call it a day.

Not to mention the amount of heat an amp can create, would be bad news with all the under dash wiring.

I had a JL 250/1 in the dash until I figured out how to get the backseat off. Then I relocated everything back there. In order to make a hole large enough to fit it in there, you have to take the stereo and everything else out down from there, including the ashtray. But then again, I dont know how large that amp is that you have. The amp will get scratched up though and it's really not worth it. Put it on the back wall.

x2 I was just going to say this. I saw one the other day, the thing was barely bigger than my hand! And packin some good power. I would not be surprised if you fit it under the dash with no problem.
