2007 F-150 Cigarette Lighter removal

I an helping a friend install a CB Radio in his 2007 F-150. We intend to use the 12vdc lead that goes to the cigarette lighter for power. How do I access the wiring on the back of the cigarette lighter? It appears as though the panel the lighter is mounted in will unsnap from dash but there is another light fixture in the same panel holding it in. How is access possible.. Thanks

If it is the same as my 05, which I believe it should be, open the cig tray about half way. Grab the trim and give it a firm tug. It will remove the trim around the radio, the controls and cig plug will still be attached to the trim but you will have access to the wiring.

X2 to what Cddavis said. I have the slide out cupholders/ash tray. Open it some, then reach in and up some I found it easiest to reach towards the corners of the bottom of the trim. The trim is held in by a series of clips, and the first few times it may be difficult to get off. Once the trim is off, you can unplug all of the cords going to the A/C, cig lighter, etc. Hope this helps.
